Sports Specific Training
As well as offering general personal training services, Scott can also train you in Sports specific training. Working with you on sports specific training will improve your stamina and strength flexibility, ensuring improvements with your performance for a specific sport. For example, if you’re a tennis player then we can work to improve your arm strength, allowing for more movement on the tennis court, and allowing you to enjoy your game of tennis more.
When working on sports specific training, it is important to develop your physical condition in order to improve your skills and performance for the specific sport you wish to participate in. You will also learn to understand the specific need of the sport – such as practicing at the correct pace and how much training is required. All of this can be learned with Sports Specific personal training.
Plyometrics
If you are already trained, or would like to train to become an athlete then Scott's Plyometrics training programme is ideal for you. Plyometrics is a fantastic method for athletes to improve and develop their sprinting, jumping and power.
During your Plyometrics training your muscles are contracted eccentrically and then immediately concentrically. This means your muscles are stretched before they contract. By doing this you are building the strength of the muscle, allowing for more power in your muscles. For example, plyometrics training is ideal if you’re a golfer and you are looking for more power in your swing.
Boxing Training
As well as personal fitness training Scott also teaches boxing. In fact, Scott uses boxing training techniques in many of the personal training programmes that he has created for some of his male clients - and one female client! By doing the right amount of training Scott will be able to get you into the shape that will allow you to box. The level of boxing training Scott includes in your personal programme is dependant on at which stage of your boxing career you are at. As he represents Scotland at international level himself, Scott can train you whether you are a beginner or a professional boxer.
At the beginner’s level Scott can put together a boxing training programme that will include learning how to hit a speed bag, a heavy bag and a double end bag. Also included in this boxing training programme will be shadow boxing, skipping, crunches, push ups, back pull ups, sit ups, pull ups, sparring practice within a ring and jogging.
